At the end of December our English club together with our fantastic Music teachers Alena Lelková and Tomáš Borůvka prepared a series of traditional Czech Christmas carols. We wanted to be well prepared for our partner schools so we had to meet several times for rehearsal. First we connected  via Skype on 13th December with Lithuania and then on 15th December with Slovenia. Both countries had a very interesting programme as well. We could listen to a few of their Christmas songs and hear the sounds of their traditional music instruments. Finally we sang together Happy Christmas - War is Over by John Lennon and wished each other Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Open the attachment and you can see the Czech Christmas songs with lyrics and music.

Draugysté, amistad, přátelství, friendship

At the end of September a group of 6 students from English club and 5 teachers from our school visited a small villlage school in Lithuania. All the participating countries met again, after almost half a year. Friends and colleagues were given a very warm welcome on arrival in Vilnius. The main motto of this meeting was getting to know traditional handicrafts of partner countries. We were very lucky - in Vilnius we visited a beautiful market with traditional products including typical Baumkuchen, woolen clothes, weaven products, wooden kitchenware and many others. We could see that in Lithuania culture in a common part of everyday life. A several performances of traditional folk dancing and folk music were prepared for us by the hosting school. We managed to learn about Lithuanian educational system, to see Lithuanian folk art and handicraft and handicrafts of other countries, to create a common project song, to taste regional specialities and to produce beautiful felt products. The school in Deguiciai was small and the equipment and furniture modest, yet it seemed really cosy and warm. Teachers, the principal and the students were so kind and cared about us with love, that at the end we left this beautiful country with tears in our eyes.

Old Czech Handicraft Market leaves lasting impression

přidáno: 17. 6. 2011 5:35, autor: Marta Ehmigová   [ aktualizováno 19. 6. 2011 13:58 ]

Annually at the end of May the town Turnov hosts an important cultural event – The Old Czech handicraft Market. The idea of organizing this occasion is not accidental. It originates from the effort of reviving a tradition which has deep roots in this region. First privileged market dates back to 15th century. The first markets lasted as long as eight days and people could buy there almost everything that they needed for their everyday life. Later horse and cattle markets were added as well.

This market is a great opportunity for getting to know traditional handicrafts and traditional fine arts, it is also a meeting place for folklore groups and folk music groups. Craftsmen from various regions of our republic (and also a few from Germany and Poland!) presented their products here. Some of them were the holders of Regional product of Bohemian Paradise certificate. This display helps to establish contacts in the area of handicraft production among the member states of the European Union and enables mutual exchange of ideas and experience. In addition, its organizers (Museum of Bohemian Paradise in Turnov) try to encourage a return to traditional folk culture and art and teach wider public how to use these traditional manifestations as an inspiration for contemporary music and art.

The market in Turnov belongs to one of the biggest events in the Czech Republic. About 10,000 people visit it every year.

Výsledky soutěže o nejlepší logo projektu Comenius

přidáno: 20. 1. 2011 4:53, autor: Marián Klapka

Ve středu 12.1.2011 byly studentkám SOŠPg předány ceny za 2.kategorii ve výtvarné soutěži  O nejlepší logo projektu Comenius „Building Future Through Culture“.

 („Utváření budoucnosti pomocí kultury“).

Této soutěže se zúčastnily vybrané studentky 3.A a 2.A, v první kategorii byli osloveni mladší studenti naší školy- členové anglického klubu.

Mezi opravdu zajímavými pracemi Elišky Štěpové, Radky Tauchmanové, Heleny Tataiové

a Míši Čeřovské komisi tří hodnotících „sudiček“ nejvíce zaujal návrh právě Míši. Je složený z vlajek zúčastněných zemí, které se dají variabilně přeskupovat. Do budoucna tak vytváří možnost použít zmíněnou skládačku tvořivě a zároveň zachovat nezaměnitelnost tohoto originálního loga. Autorka vytvořila již nyní cca. 5 variant
